Known for his paintings of stones and streambeds, Dave continues to be inspired to paint new works every year.“It is nature’s wealth of color, shapes and composition that inspires me to paint.”
Norm is a veteran concert/recording artist who has toured extensively in Canada, Europe and parts of the USA, Norm is an engaging storyteller and powerful performer who has been delighting fans of authentic music for years. He has recorded 14 full-length solo recording projects and appeared on 8 compilation and live compilation projects released both here in Canada and Europe.

Wapiti Winter Wonderland-12"x36" Oil on Canvas
This paintings was inspired by a road trip to Alberta with my daughter, we took the Yellowhead back and just north of Jasper we saw a herd of Elk (Wapiti) and I got a few good reference pictures. It was a great weekend with my daughter and a inspiration to my painting.

Dave Watland's Christmas Art Show

We had a count of 82 people that came through an I sold 5 paintings.

My wife and I had an opportunity to go to Paraguay with Operation Christmas Child. We delivered 6,120 boxes to seven different communities in Paraguay. One morning we were hiking along a mountain road and I saw this colorful rooster.

A Secret Place-16"x24" Oil on Canvas
In this painting the composition was real but the colours and rock shapes I've played with. As the space fades in the upper left corner I imagined a few leaves casting a gentle shadow onto the rocks below. The secret place is actually in my mind.

Tree Line 6"x9" Medium Coffee on Watercolor Board

This is one of a few coffee paintings that I have done. I'm exploring with different brands of coffee. One of the benefits of painting with coffee is the delightful smell. Of course you would have to buy one to experience that.
"Rivers" Studio Study 36"x36" Acrylic on Canvas
On Feb 5th 2010, I was asked to do a live paint for a Help Haiti Fund Relief.
This is a studio study that I did prior to the event. I call it "Rivers... Studio Study" The scriptures say The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

There is a power line about 10 km from our cabin and in the fall it has groves of colorful aspen trees.
It was an easy painting to name.
